I work with Adults
Coming to counselling can feel intimidating; some people worry they need to be in crisis before reaching out, while others feel they don’t know where to start. I believe counselling is for anyone, at any time. I recognize and value that just making it through the doors may very well be the toughest part!
The heart of my work lies in building a safe, steady, and supportive therapeutic relationship, where you feel seen and heard. Using a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, we’ll collaborate on therapy that moves at your pace and is guided by your needs first.
I hold a Master of Education in Counselling from the UNBC and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Vancouver Island University. Since 2018, I’ve worked in roles supporting adults of all genders, with additional experience working closely with men. My background is rooted in social justice, trauma-informed practice, and cultural sensitivity.
In session, I draw from a range of approaches, including solution-focused therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Narrative Therapy. Exploring family history and attachment bonds, is important to me in this work. I have a passion for working with individuals navigating adversity, addictions, and relationship challenges. I also stay connected with community resources, ensuring clients have access to the support they need. Above all, I value slowing down, processing deeply, and fostering the consistency that builds trust and long-term growth.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors walking my dog, hiking, kayaking, or camping during the summer months. I value spending quality time with family and friends, as well as quiet time for reading or Netflix. Learning to slow down and ground myself is an ongoing practice for me, and it’s something I’m passionate about sharing with my clients.
