I work with children, youth and adults
In a world that often tries to define and label us through a lens of stigma, social pressures or norms, and what has happened to us in our lives, I strive to create a space where we can instead slow down and listen to your voice.
In my approach to therapy, we look at the stories you’ve been told - by others, by the world, or sometimes by that voice in your head - and explore which ones are true, helpful, or even worth keeping at all. We get curious about your story - who you are, what strengths you carry as a part of you, what you care about, and how you want to grow.
My approach to therapy
I mostly work with young people (children, teens, and young adults), but I enjoy working with adults too. I have a bit of an eclectic approach to therapy, rooted primarily in narrative therapy but also incorporating elements of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioural and dialectical behavioural therapy (CBT and DBT), and solution focused approaches. With this combination, I aim to provide therapy that balances acceptance and change, reflection and action, and empowers you to live a life that is meaningful for you. I also love to incorporate creative elements, whether it’s through storytelling, art, or play into therapy with children and youth.
My experience
I have counselling experience working with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation, self-esteem, past experiences of trauma and adversity, emotional and behavioural dysregulation, ADHD, and substance use. Regardless of whether you are facing stress, adversity, trauma, overwhelming emotion, or coping patterns that are no longer working for you, I aim to walk alongside you or your child and support you through curiosity, creativity, empathy, deep respect, and authentic connection.
More than just my work
Like you, I am a multi-faceted human being! Outside of my work, I love spending time in nature foraging, fishing, exploring or adventuring, and you can almost always find at least one of my many animals happily beside me.
