Angela Savage, MA, BSN Counsellor - She/Her/Hers
Works with clients 12 + Online and telephone only
I hold a holistic view to mind body wellness and use a collaborative approach in working with clients. I believe every individual is the expert of their life. My role is to provide a compassionate and non-judgmental environment. I use a strength’s based and person-centred approach that feels safe and empowering for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.
I have been working in the healthcare field for over 15 years. I have worked in acute care, mental health, and most recently, in complex palliative care, as a nurse, prior to becoming a therapist. I believe everyone holds their own wisdom and knows what is best for them. My role is to listen and support, and hold space for the exploration process to occur, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I have extensive experience supporting clients through grief and loss, life transitions, burnout, depression, and anxiety. I have experience with neurodiversity, specifically autism and ADHD. My own lived experiences and challenges have provided me with deep empathy and compassion, and the understanding of how vital support can be when navigating difficult and transitional life experiences.
I have worked extensively with women, men, and teens. I have an eclectic approach that utilizes narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, and somatic awareness, and I also incorporate principles of Hakomi within my counselling. I am certified in Gottman Level one and work with couples. Because of my 1.5 decades of work as a nurse, I have a unique understanding of medical conditions, medications, and surgical recovery. I am available for short term counselling using a Solution Focused Approach, or longer-term therapy, depending on what is needed and desired. I invite you to book a consultation with me and explore if working together may be helpful for you.
