THE 6-WEEK ACT PROGRAM
(ACCEPTANCE AND COMMITMENT THERAPY)

If you are struggling to move on from painful memories and/or filled with anxiety about your future, this series may be for you!
Acceptance and Commitment therapy isn’t just about positive thinking and “getting over your problems”. ACT approaches mental health with the belief that grief, illness, disappointment and anxiety are unavoidable aspects of being human. When we spend all our energy to suppress these emotions, our emotional wounds grow larger, last longer and cause us more pain. If emotional wounds are inevitable, what if we focused on paying care and attention to them, instead? Our emotional wounds exist, but they should not be taking up all the real estate in your heart and mind – lets make room for joy, calm and future possibilities, too.

Each week, your sessions will be semi-structured to fall under one of the following themes while still allowing space for some spontaneity if other issues pop up that you need to discuss.

  • WEEK 1: INTAKE
  • WEEK 2: ACCEPTANCE
  • WEEK 3: DIFFUSION
  • WEEK 4: PRESENT MOMENT AWARENESS
  • WEEK 5: SELF CONTEXT
  • WEEK 6: VALUES AND COMMITTED ACTIONS

Following your session, you will be emailed information, session recaps or techniques to try at home based on your individual circumstances or needs.
